Ecological Arts Practice & Workshops
- My practice bridges ecopsychology and the arts, exploring the profound ways human wellbeing is intertwined with the vitality of the natural world. I don't just use nature; I cultivate intimacy with it by gathering and growing my own pigments. Rather than merely depicting a landscape, I collaborate with the earth, allowing the pigments to speak through the work.
- Working with natural pigments is a counter-cultural act—a resistance against over-exploitation and mass production. By hand-crafting materials from the earth, I transform art back into ritual, embracing a slower, ecological creativity. This process prioritises magic over utility and play over perfection, inviting us to dream and reconnect. My final images are simply a footprint of a much deeper journey.
- I offer workshops where I guide participants through the practicalities of working with raw pigments, while exploring the deeper psychological connection to the earth. It is a dual journey of learning a craft and discovering the meaning behind the materials we use.
