Wilder Kynd CIC

A brand new Community Interest Company is in the pipeline, a collboration between myself and Safiya El-Gindy. Wilder Kynd will draw on both of backgrounds, skills and stregnths as qualified and experinced eco-psyhcholgy practitioners. We will work with

● A diverse community of individuals across faiths, cultures, and heritages who wish to come together in the natural world as a way to step outside traditional boundaries to explore how to find mutual understanding, deep connection, and a sense of belonging.

● Mental health practitioners and frontline emotional support workers facing occupational burnout, compassion fatigue, and psychological depletion from high-empathy work environments. Those who feel a called to be supported by the natural world to recover and find restoration through nature-based activities and interventions.

● Bringing together people living with cancer, including survivors and those post-treatment, who are seeking emotional support and restoration. Those who feel they might benefit from nature-based well-being support and time to share with other people living with cancer.

We will offer:

  • Community and cross-cultural events. Encourage dialogue and connection across isolated and disconnected communities in both rural and urban settings. Inclusive of refugees and asylum seekers and young people with mental health challenges. Knowledge sharing and exploring new (and remembering old) ways of connecting to place, as a way of fostering holistic health of people and nature
  • Creative and heritage crafts like natural ink making and working with natural materials. To preserve and share and evolve traditional skills in the UK and increase practical and inter-personal skills in the local community to improve health, wellbeing and involvement in the community and economy
  • Evidence based Nature Connection and Ecotherapy sessions (group and 1-2-1).To create a space for healing and recovery with the intention of improving physical health, mental health and environmental health. Long and short-term projects that blend creative and therapeutic activities for a wider range of benefits and deeper connection to place and community.

Recent Testimonial

The course structure was fantastic, it really suited my love of nature and being outdoors. The benefits for my personal development are it has allowed me to express myself in ways that I have never done before. I have a greater understanding of the connectedness between nature and health. The course has enabled me to guide others into nature and I can see week by week the benefits of them developing their understanding of themselves and the connection they have with nature. It is evident that their well-being has improved.
