Outdoor Mental Health Skills

This day teaches staff and volunteers how to support people who share personal difficulties with them or are distressed during a walk or outdoor activity. We will look at;

  • How the nervous system works and impacts how we feel and behave
  • Simple ways to regulate emotions
  • How past traumatic experiences can affect people’s day to day experience
  • How we can support others to feel better emotionally and mentally

Participants will leave knowing how to talk to and respond to people who are struggling mentally as well as practical techniques with a focus on those suitable for an outdoor environment.

Nature Connection & Eco-Psychology

Are you passionate about supporting  people with their wellbeing and giving them the chance to experience the power of nature ?

This CPD course is designed to help you create more opportunities for people to connect with nature, enjoy moments of wonder, and have a more immersive experience. Rooted in an evidence-based eco-psychological approach, our course will give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to bring accessible elements of nature connection into a range of recreational and educational activities or to create your own simple accessible nature connection session for wellbeing.

Please sign up to the mailing list for training updates below.

Both of these delivered free of charge to people who live and work in Lancashire in July and September 2025. If you are outside Lancashire but would like to attend, you can attend by donating to NatureWell Lancashire project. These can also be delivered in house for 12 people for a day rate. Recent Testimonial

Thank you for facilitating pilot programmes for the GLLM Potensial Programme on behalf of TEC Wales in academic year 2023/24. It was an absolute pleasure to attend the last Wellbeing in Nature session in Bangor, and I was humbled to hear how much the learners gained from attending the sessions.

Your nature-based programmes offer a well-rounded approach to learning and personal development, combining physical, mental and social benefits. They stimulate curiosity, creativity, and resilience. It is inspiring to see participants re-ignite their love for learning and connection with nature.

Thank you as well for your professionalism and promptness in delivering these courses. We look forward to collaborating with you over the coming years.
